Friends, imagine being 16, working tirelessly just to stay afloat. Your parents are both ill, medical bills stacking up. Every penny earned becomes a harsh choice: Groceries or keeping the lights on?
That was my reality, and it’s why I’m running for State Representative. I’m Jamie Hough, and I’m not just another politician. I dropped out at 16 to support my family, witnessing my dad’s battle with terminal cancer and my mom fading away into dementia. Through sacrifice, fear, and an unyielding desire for more, my parents instilled strength in me. They taught me everyone deserves a chance, even when facing life’s worst.
This strength helped to propel me through my working career and raise my 3 boys. Now, I’m here to fight for that chance. Affordable healthcare isn’t just a policy for me; it’s a battle cry. No one should have to watch their loved ones suffer due to unaffordable treatment. It’s about ending medical debt & building a future where families thrive.
In the last two years, we expanded Medicaid, facilitated free screenings, and gave a voice to the unheard. But there’s so much more to do. With your vote, we can be the generation that says enough. We can make quality affordable healthcare a right, not a privilege. This isn’t just my story, it’s yours too!
With your support, we can bring our House District's voice to the statehouse!
